VICE VERSA.

Ο διεθνώς βραβευμένος κινηματογραφιστής και καθηγητής Michael Brynntrup ήρθε στην Αθήνα, με μια ομάδα φοιτητών από το Braunschweig University of Art, της Γερμανίας, για να συνεργαστεί με μια ομάδα φοιτητών από την ΑΣΚΤ Αθήνας, στο πλαίσιο ενός film - making workshop με τίτλο Vice Versa Portraits. Το εργαστήριο βασίστηκε στη συνεργασία ομάδων δύο ατόμων. Κάθε συμμετέχων δούλεψε με ένα άγνωστο, σε αυτόν, άτομο από το άλλο Πανεπιστήμιο. Περιορισμένοι μόνο στο μέσο της οπτικής έκφρασης, οι συμμετέχοντες έπρεπε να αναπτύξουν μια δυνατή οπτική γλώσσα και αφήγηση. Ο στόχος του εργαστηρίου ήταν η παραγωγή ενός βωβού πορτραίτου κινούμενης εικόνας από καθε συμμετέχοντα.
Τα αποτελέσματα παρουσιάστηκαν δημόσια με συνοδεία ζωντανής μουσικής στις 16 Μαρτίου, στο Circuits and Currents στην Αθήνα, μαζί με μια προβολή, για πρώτη φορά, του "CheUn Dalou", ενός συλλογικού φιλμ - απάντηση στο κλασσικό σουρρεαλιστικό φίλμ του Buñuel " Un Chien Andalou" από το1929.
Το εργαστήριο ήταν μέρος των δράσεων που έκανε στην Αθήνα, το 2015, το δίκτυο για το σύγχρονο βουβό κινηματογράφο "Moving Silence", το οποίο έχει έδρα στο Βερολίνο.
Στις δημόσιες εκδηλώσεις, η ανοιχτή αυτή πλατφόρμα ήθελε να επανασυνδεθεί με τις ποιητικές ποιότητες της καταγωγής του σινεμά, συστήνοντας νέες αισθητικές και τεχνολογίες σε μια μορφή τέχνης που έχει κρατηθεί βουβή για πολύ καιρό. Αυτή τη χρονιά, στο επίκεντρο βρέθηκε το θέμα του πορτραίτου σε μια βουβή ταινία.

Internationally awarded film maker and professor Michael Brynntrup came to Athens with a group of film students from the Braunschweig University of Art, Gemany, to collaborate with a group of students of the Athens School of FIne Arts, in the context of a film - making workshop called "VIce Versa Portraits". The workshop was based on collaboration in a 2-person-team. Each workshop participant worked with an unknown person of the other university. By being limited to visual expression only, the participants had to develop a strong visual language and narration. The workshop’s aim was the production of one silent moving images portrait by each participant.
The results were publicly presented with live soundtracks on March 16th, in Circuits and Currents, Athens, along with a premiere of “CheUn Dalou”, a collective film response to Buñuel’s silent surrealist classic “Un Chien Andalou” from 1929.
The workshop was part of the activities by the Berlin-based network for contemporary silent film "Moving Silence" in Athens 2015. In the events, the open platform wanted to reconnect with the poetic qualities of the origin of cinema by introducing new aesthetics and technologies to an art form that has been kept silent for a long time. This year’s focus was on the topic of portraits in silent film.
